Scope
Gogomo is a social merchandising solution provider for advertisers and site owners that delivers contextually relevant product advertisements enabling you to buy, wish, recommend, gift or share products from thousands of merchants without leaving the host site/service.
This Privacy Policy describes how we handle your personal information for our services on the Gogomo services. It applies generally to the Gogomo services which may include, the Gogomo website, widgets, advertisements and other related services on the Internet and on a mobile device where this policy appears in the footer of the page.
By using Gogomo you expressly consent to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy and you expressly consent to have your personal data transferred to and processed in the United States. This Privacy Policy is effective upon acceptance for new users and is otherwise effective on April 1, 2008.
Collection
You can browse our sites and services on the Internet and on a mobile device without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. Once you give us your personal information, you are not anonymous to us. If you choose to provide us with personal information, you consent to the transfer and storage of that information on our servers located in the United States.
We may collect and store the following personal information:
- mobile phone number, home phone number, email address, physical contact information, and (depending on the service used) sometimes financial; information, such as credit card, stored value account or bank account numbers;
- transactional information based on your activities on the services such as bidding, buying, sharing, gifting, wishing and bundling product, item and content you generate or that relates to your account;
- shipping, billing and other information you provide to purchase or ship an item;
- post of user content, correspondence through our services, and correspondence sent to us;
- information you participate in activities on our services, such as by placing an order, completing a user registration form or online survey, creating a buddy list or address book, creating a wish list, using our shopping, sharing, gifting, wishing and other services, participating in a rebate offer, game, promotion, contest or sweepstakes services.
We may collect and store the following information provided by others:
- information from other companies, such as demographic, behavioral, transaction and traffic data; and other supplemental information from third parties (for example, if you create a profile on a third party site you may supply certain personal information, such as your name, your email address, your mobile number, your telephone number, your address, your gender, schools attended, wish list, purchasing preferences, and any other personal or preference information that you provide;
- information about you from people in your community and networks such as your email address or mobile number, interest in products or services, lifestyle and your preferences.
We may collect and store the following information provided by technology:
- information from your browser using "cookies;"
- information from your mobile phone using UAProf;
- other information from your interaction with services including computer and connection information, statistics on page views, traffic to and from the sites, ad data, IP address, web beacons and standard web log information.
Children Under Age 13
Gogomo does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register for Gogomo service or send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, mobile number or email address. No one under age 13 may provide any personal information to or on Gogomo service. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at info@gogomo.com.
Children Between the Ages of 13 and 18
We recommend that minors over the age of 13 ask their parents for permission before sending any information about themselves to anyone over the Internet.
Marketing
We don't sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent. If you don't wish to receive marketing communications from us or participate in our ad-customization programs, simply indicate your preference once you sign-on in My Gogomo (or similar account status page) or by following the directions provided in an email or from a link on the advertisement.
How We Use Information
Our primary purpose in collecting personal information is to provide you with a safe, smooth, efficient, and customized experience. We may combine the information you submit with other information from other Gogomo services or third parties in order to provide you with a better experience and improve the quality of our services We may combine your information with information we collect from other companies and use it to improve and personalize our services, content and advertising.
You agree that we may use your personal information to:
- provide the services and customer support you request;
- improve the service, including tailoring it to your preferences;
- customize, measure and improve our services, content and advertising;
- aggregate non-personal, demographic, behavioral, transaction and technical information to create targeted advertisements and offers;
- tell you about targeted marketing, service updates, and promotional offers based on your communication preferences;
- displayed profile information to people in your community and networks specified in your privacy settings to enable you to connect with people;
- facilitate transactions with third party advertisers and merchants;
- process, service or enforce transactions and sending related service communications;
- use your email address or mobile phone number for processing, servicing or enforcing transactions;
- compare information for accuracy, and verify it with third parties;
- conduct operational uses such as helping to establish and verify your identity opening, maintaining, administering and servicing your accounts.

Our Disclosure of Your Information
We may also share your information with third parties only in limited circumstances where we believe such sharing is 1) reasonably necessary to offer the service, 2) legally required, 3) facilitate a transaction, 4) permitted by you. We may disclose personal information to respond to legal requirements, enforce our policies, respond to claims that user content or other content violates the rights of others, or protect anyone's rights, property, or safety.
We may also share your personal information with:
- merchant partners for fulfillment uses such as using your mobile number or email, address for shipping, credit card and other payment methods and other contact information for purposes of processing, servicing or enforcing transactions and sending order status and other related communications;
- publishing and co-branding partners your personally identifiable information may be forwarded to communicate special offers, target advertisements, provide additional benefits or for other related uses;
- charities when you participate in these offers, your personally identifiable information may be forwarded to the charitable organization so that it may recognize your donation and provide follow up communication;
- deliver messages or services, such as a company that helps deliver messages and products to your mobile phone number, sending email, sending catalogs or other promotional mailings; or providing customer assistance or marketing assistance.
- service providers under contract who help with our business operations (such as developers, service providers, credit card and payment processing services, bill collection and accounting, affiliate and rewards programs);
- other third parties to whom you explicitly ask us to send your information (or about whom you are otherwise explicitly notified and consent to when using a specific service);
- law enforcement or other governmental officials, in response to a verified request relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity. In such events, we will disclose information relevant to the investigation, such as name, city, state, zip code, telephone number, email address, User ID history, IP address, fraud complaints, and bidding and listing history.
Cookies
We use "cookies" (small files placed on your hard drive) on certain of our pages to help analyze our web page flow; customize our services, content and advertising; measure promotional effectiveness, and promote trust and safety.

Account Protection
Your password is the key to your account. Use unique numbers, letters and special characters, and do not disclose your Gogomo password to anyone. If you do share your password or your personal information with others, remember that you are responsible for all actions taken in the name of your account. If you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your personal information and may be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf. Therefore, if your password has been compromised for any reason, you should immediately notify Gogomo and change your password.
Accessing, Reviewing and Changing Your Personal Information
You can see, review and change most of your personal information by signing on to Gogomo. Access and control over most personal information on Gogomo is readily available through the profile editing tools. Gogomo users may modify or delete any of their profile information at any time by logging into their account. Information will be updated immediately. Individuals who wish to deactivate their Gogomo account may do so on the My Account page. Removed information may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time but will not be generally available to members of Gogomo. Where you make use of the communication features of the service to share information with other individuals on Gogomo, however, (e.g., sending a personal message to another Gogomo user) you generally cannot remove such communications.
Generally, we will not manually modify your personal information because it is very difficult to verify your identity remotely. You must promptly update your personal information if it changes or is inaccurate. Once you make a public posting, you may not be able to change or remove it. Upon your request, we will close your account and remove your personal information from view as soon as reasonably possible, based on your account activity and in accordance with applicable law. We do retain personal information from closed accounts to comply with law, prevent fraud, collect any fees owed, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our Gogomo User Agreement, and take other actions otherwise permitted by law.
Security
Your information is stored on our servers located in the United States. We treat data as an asset that must be protected and use lots of tools (encryption, passwords, physical security, etc.) to protect your personal information against unauthorized access and disclosure. However, as you probably know, third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications, and other users may abuse or misuse your personal information that they collect from the site. Therefore, although we work very hard to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information or private communications will always remain private.
Third Parties
Except as otherwise expressly included in this Privacy Policy, this document addresses only the use and disclosure of information we collect from you. If you disclose your information to others, whether they are users, buyers or sellers on our services or other services throughout the internet, different rules may apply to their use or disclosure of the information you disclose to them. Gogomo does not control the privacy policies of third parties, and you are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties where applicable. We encourage you to ask questions before you disclose your personal information to others.
Gogomo may contain links to other services. We are of course not responsible for the privacy practices of other web sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by Gogomo.
Advertisements that appear on Gogomo are sometimes delivered (or "served") directly to users by third party advertisers. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. These third party advertisers may also download cookies to your computer, or use other technologies such as JavaScript and "web beacons" (also known as "1x1 gifs") to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. Doing this allows the advertising network to recognize your computer each time they send you an advertisement in order to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. In this way, they may compile information about where individuals using your computer or browser saw their advertisements and determine which advertisements are clicked. Gogomo does not have access to or control of the cookies that may be placed by the third party advertisers. Third party advertisers have no access to your contact information stored on Gogomo unless you choose to share it with them.
This privacy policy covers the use of cookies by Gogomo and does not cover the use of cookies or other tracking technologies by any of its advertisers.
General
Your use of Gogomo, and any disputes arising from it, is subject to this Privacy Policy as well as our Terms of Use and all of its dispute resolution provisions including arbitration, limitation on damages and choice of law. We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use at any time. Non-material changes and clarifications will take effect immediately, and material changes will take effect within 30 days of their posting on this site. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or through notice on our home page. We encourage you to refer to this policy on an ongoing basis so that you understand our current privacy policy. Unless stated otherwise, our current privacy policy applies to all information that we have about you and your account.
